How to Leverage External Suppliers for Health and Safety Program Performance

As Safety Professionals, we have a lot on our plates. Did you know there are companies out there that can take some tasks off your plate and/or enhance your safety program? Matt Fitting, Safety Specialist with Fastenal will be joining us for our October meeting to share details on the Fastenal Safety Specialist program. The companies you know primarily for PPE bring much more to the table than you realize! They have a whole team of Safety Professionals ready to help YOU! They can help with specific assessments, custom JHA’s, JSA’s, respirator fit testing, footwear programs and more! Matt will share the best-in-class industry practices and partnered programs that are usually provided at no charge to customers that commit to Fastenal (or any other safety supplier).

CEU Policy – Virtual attendees are eligible for CEUs. All virtual attendees must be present by 12:00 noon and stay logged in until the end of the program in order to receive CEUs. Login time is tracked via zoom.

Matthew Fitting is a Regional Safety Specialist for Fastenal Company, a global distributor of OEM and MRO supplies.  As a Regional Safety Specialist, he works with Fastenal’s safety customers as a consultant on their safety programs helping to reduce and eliminate serious injuries and fatalities, and increasing compliance.  Current certifications include QSSP, OSHA 30, and Competent Person in Fall Protection.

Prior to starting his role as a Regional Safety Specialist, Matthew has held several other roles in his 21 years with Fastenal Company, including Product Manager, Sourcing Specialist, and National Account Business Manager.

In his spare time outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing guitar and signing in a band, kayaking, and spending time with his niece and nephew.  He is also a volunteer fireman in his hometown of Houston, MN and an avid MN sports fan.
