Topic: Workers Compensation Fraud: Current trends and tips to combating fraud

Speaker: Supervisory Special Agent Jonathan J. Ferris, Minnesota Commerce Fraud Bureau

Jonathan Ferris graduated from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 1999 with Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. He began working as a state trooper for the Minnesota State Patrol in 2000. In 2007, he was promoted to technical sergeant, serving as a district investigator for the East Metro District of the State Patrol. In December 2010, he was hired as a special agent at the Commerce Fraud Bureau, and was promoted to supervisory special agent in December 2012. He was a 2013-2014 Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, Center for the Study of Politics and Governance. He has significant experience conducting state and federal financial crime investigations.
